Hello and welcome!

I am an artist and teacher, living and working in Northumberland. My work is atmospheric, colourful, and experimental; inspired by the Northumberland landscape, seasons, nature, colour and pattern. My journey is always taking me to different places and new discoveries. I am always keen to push the boundaries and find new ways of working. I sell paintings, cards, prints, and commissions and I hold workshops and offer tuition.

Christmas Cards - Christmas Countdown Offer

£40pp for a 2 and a half hour Winter Foliage watercolour workshop

I will soon be releasing my new workshop dates for 2025.

I have been blown away with the popularity of my painted birdie baubles which I have been selling at Christmas fairs. This range includes blue tit, coal tit, robin, goldcrest, bullfinch and goldfinch. Birds are a big part of my life. These beauties are all unique hand painted creations and are finished with a coat of wax for a soft lustre.

If you would like to try painting baubles yourself then try one of my bauble painting workshops….

Catch me on TV….

I am excited to say that I and my work have featured on two television programmes this autumn!

Discovery TV

Firstly my paintings and prints were selected to be part of the decor and gallery at Warksburn Old Church. A restoration project by Anne and Alan James, that has become the first chapel to be converted into a passiv haus; the ultimate in green energy and high class design. The conversion was filmed as part of the the series Derelict Rescue, on Discovery TV. My very popular prints Midday Clocks and Towards Housesteads are in the bedrooms and much more of my work is in the gallery. Warksburn Old Church is a now a luxury holiday let where you can experience staying in a building that is the gold standard in sustainable living.

BBC1

Back in Spring I had a phone call from BBC1’s ever popular Escape to the Country. They were filming in Northumberland and were looking for local creatives and small businesses who were inspired by the country. They had found my work and realised that the country ide is incredibly important to me and my inspiration. They came and interviewed me and took photos of a super sized watercolour I had painted, based on the views around Knarsdale in the North Pennines. This episode on Northumberland will be broadcast on BBC1, 3pm on Tuesday 5th November.
