I am an artist living with my family in the Tyne Valley, Northumberland, UK. I have always loved to paint, draw and be creative. For over 20 years I have taught in primary schools and one of the highlights was teaching children how to be artists. Now I have decided to follow this career path more fully, taking inspiration from the world around me. Northumberland, Cumbria and Dumfries and Galloway feature a lot in my work. The River Tyne is my favourite haunt and I love to see how the landscape, flora and fauna change with the seasons. I paint with watercolours mostly and I hope to share some of my watercolour techniques through online tutorials and workshops, as I believe everyone can learn to paint. See My Guide to Watercolour pages for more information. My other interests include walking, birding, singing in an acapella group and cooking.
